Who runs a plastic 350x gas tank?

So I'm putting together a daily rider 350 and am thinking about a plastic clark tank? What does everyone think of them/experiences etc etc. Help me decide yay or nay?

Don't get white!!!!! Unless looks don't bother you, the gas eats the nice white away.

The red Clarke is closer to Honda than Maier plastic is. Maier is too dark!! The SX tank fit and finish are great. Near impossible to find a nice metal tank and then painting it with quality paint using a hardner. These tanks are now 20 years old. 160$ for plastic is AOK by me...

My white tank lasted 3 years before it started turning color... but I drained the fuel in the winter... It sure saved on the dents for sure...

i love the plastic tank other than the fact taht it changes collor in sunlight. If you take care of it though and keep it out of the sun when storing it i dont see why you would have any problems.

All of my bikes are stored in doors out of the weather and I'm gonna go with all red plastic so color fade shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'll probably ebay my old tank. Its metal, but been painted red/ stickered to death, and has the usual knee dents. I was just figuring the plastic tank will take the wear and tear better/ be less hasle than getting my metal tank refinished. I already had a 200x tank refinished and now I don't want to use it cause its too nice. I don't wanna see it get wrecked again. lol

I have seen CorbinKale's (board member) and his is an IMS (i think) oversize and its been working on his for about 15 years now. Its has yellowed somewhat now but hey, its got some years on it, metal tanks that old have usually rusted badly or through unless coated.

    .

My 85 has a plastic tank on it and I absolutely hate it, i dont know what brand it is but it's too big. I dont have the left scoop on becuse it will hit the forks. I had to add to the "stop" on front of the neck of the frame so it wouldnt turn to tight and gouge (sp?) the tank all to hell. I was looking for a metal tank for some time but havent had any luck without spending a fortune so i'm just dealing with the plastic tank. it sounds like plastic tanks arent to bad but mine is junk.
