Pick you up an impact screwdriver... Works great... usually one or two wacks and it will pop it loose... Its probally one of my most used tools.

this happened on my front brake rezy, i used a small die grinder to gouge a deep valley in them. then i used a big flathead screwdriver to get them out.
Like Blaze said an impact driver is the way to go. If that fails then I move to small vice-grips. You can also try cutting a line in the head to get a flat tip bit to grip and then use the impact driver. You can use a small chisel to pound around the outside of the head and that might unscrew it (or break it off).
I have also cut off heads then used the vice grips to remove the studs.

Another route, if you have a welder, is put a nut over the screw head and weld the head and the nut together then simply turn the nut and presto it threads out. All of the tips mentioned in this thread are great options to try! Good luck!

I bought an impact driver from Princess Auto on sale for 9.99. I use it for every phillips bolt, gets them out every time.
Definatly my favorite tool.
if you aint got an impact...for now just hit the end of the screw driver with a big muther humpina couple times and turn it a little as you do it...
