    Check this P3 out!

Rumor had it that there was a Almost Brand new Polaris Scrambler 3 setting in the back of the Polaris shop near here. I had to run up there for some parts this morning so I figured I would ask (happen to have the camera in my pocket). Sure enough, freshly washed and under a cover, there it was. The owner started his dealership in 1985 and bought, used it a little while and then got something else. This is the only one I have ever seen and I dont think I could have found a better unit to stare at. Oh, and under no circumstance is it For Sale. He said he would keep it forever.

    Does it still run?
I looked at the specs page on the homepage here, and I guess this would be an 'early' one cause I don't see the reverse override switch, might be there, but I can't see it.

the reverse override switch is there, you can see it in the second picture. I have no idea how much its worth. I know when i squeezed the brake handle it didnt seem to do anything, maybe like a leaking seal or something. The grips are Oury brand, likley not factory, but very cushy so prolly changed for vibration reasons. It is supposed to run but I didnt ask to hear it.

It will go as fast in reverse as it will in forward.

Just you wait till you ride one of the sevral Polaris trikes that will be at TF06 Lomax ,,,

Nice find and interesting story ,,,, john
John, You paid $65 for pucks? Dang it, I told you I had a new set here for less than 1/2 that. You need to listen to me next time!! lmao j/k

Lomax, No the didn't have hydralic brakes. The stock brakes are mechanical via a cable. I would really like to have some pictures of how they did the hydralic brakes system. FYI, I mention to John quite a while ago, and other in chat a couple weeks ago, that I was going to try and adapt some hydralics over. My interest has peeked here. Right now I am settling for getting back my stock brake parts that are out for rebuild and or Painting. I have a 2 week time limit to have mine running. arggggg

Another interesting thing is since the rear brake is set up on the tranny ,,, if in nuetral the rear brake has no affect.
I understand the front brake system much better ,,, good old drum brake.

John is correct, if it's in netrual you don't have ANY rear brakes. Same goes for if you break the drive chain your screwed. lol
