I'v got tons of race storys but theyre better saved for around a campfire with a few brews...

Probably the worst race I ever had though...Some guy I lived by had a 350x (just for the record, it was a low compression all original machine, but it ran pretty well and still had power then most trikes running around). I was running a pretty well modified 200x at this time, so we rode around together when we saw each other on the trails. We raced some mx and stuff but always for fun (on a better note i won most of the time)..

Anyway, last time I saw him we were gonna do a drag race. We start off and I get a good holeshot and hold him off til he hits about 3rd, then he passed me and held a good 2 bikelengths. As we got to about 45mph he grabbed an extra gear..this gave me my chance. Since my engine was setup for running much higher rpms (as compared to other thumpers), I had it wringed out. As I got into 5th and we topped out I had maybe 1/2 to 1 bikelength on him. The 200x did not like this though and the tires locked up with a rather unpleasent noise. I did what i could to keep it straight while I was using my newfound braking power and the other guy sailed away. When I got to a standstill and looked at the damage, I was pretty distraught....

New "ventilated" crankcases for high performance! better breathing means more performance!

    Shredded piston

Rod bent in a way no other rod should be+broken at the big end.

Peices of the piston and crankcase in the exhaust and transmission...there was plenty of other chaos but thats the worst of it

As you can tell, it was a mess. Shameful way to kill a pretty fast bike. If I ever get around to getting a computer setup for my scanner (need to build a oldschool system to use the hardware), I'll get a few pictures of it scanned if i can ever find them.

I've got a pretty good one,you almost had to be there. It was probably back in like '89 or'90. My carb got screwed up on my 85R so I put a 44 mikuni on it, took it in had it jetted & stuff. I had it out one the lake ice fishing& havin a few brewskies, decided to drive it home on the highway,my buddy came with on a '80 SRX (snowmobile),another friend had a late 70's firebird. We took off down the road, the snowmobile got the holeshot because my threewheeler was pretty gutless with that carb on it until you reved the piss out of it about a 1/8 mile down the road I passed him he later said he was doing 85mph,I was only in 5th gear, at about 1 mile the firebird was catching up slowly, everytime I tried to shift to 6th ith would bog down, so i needed to get a few more rrr's, forgot to say I had a passenger and about at this time he started punching me in the back and laughing,as i turned around I could see a stream of orange sparks about 4ft. around and about 100ft. long, they were all landing on the firebird, and coming from my exhaust. Then she died....God bless her, dont know for sure but I had to be pushing 90mph and if I could have made it to the top of the hill I know I could have hit 6th,wow..$1200 later she was back on the road, still the same machine I own today
