    Rebuilding a 200s engine- does it take more than this?

    If i put in all the labor myself, would it cost me anything more than this

    to rebuild my engine? is there something else that needs to be purchased to begin and end the job? Thank you everyone.

    You will have to measure and see if you need to go to the next oversize bore and piston also.

    rings-about 35 or so dollars
    Tube of gasket sealer-about 5-8 dollars


    Make sure you measure your jug and piston to see if its still within specs. If they arnt your basically doing nothing. Are you rebuilding the bottom end as well?

    wow man, that kind of discourages me. Its running fine so i might just give up on it. I dont have the money to go all out- thank you all though!

    Why were you thinking of rebuilding it?
    I wouldnt touch it if nothing is wrong with it, once you open one thing up, you may end up having to do a bunch more things....if its not broke, dont fix it!

    It runs increddibly strong- very reliable. Its a 200s for cryin outloud!

    They never break!

    But sometimes i feel sorry for it. I did some nasty things to it.
