    Question a quick question

    Hay guys is it possible to have a sticking or sticky valve.

    Yes. I'm not sure exactly how to fix it, but yes it is possible. (Only in a 4 stroke though..)

    What's yer problem that you're having? More likely that you'd have a bent valve, in which case the head has to come off and the valve needs to be replaced. Bent valves are caused by overrevving or incorrect cam timing/timing chain skip.

    You say you had no compression, that could because one of your valves is stuck open. (check through the 50 pages of threads) I guarentee you sticky valve was metioned.

    yeah thanks guys you made my day knowing its fixable but then again whatever it is is fixable only money will stop me!! haha My mom is giving me crap about selling it becuase its a waste of garage space and all this crap... i said give me a year then well talk about it... lol ill get her i have faith!

    well its almost done it looks pretty good! ill have to get *Edited* some updated pics. I recently cleaned the plastics redid the exhaust pipe and made it silver again aswell and the heat plate on the side.. Also i put a new foam pad on the front hadlebars and added some killer decals.. Looking awsome i cant believe its mine now it just needs to start.... I also sanded some parts down.. ill get some pics tomarrow guys in a different thread topic. later - Joe

    Who is going to be pulling the head, if the valve is the problem?
    I would suggest having a mechanic do it.
    YTM heads are hard to work on, the rocker arm shafts get stuck in really good and they're impossible to get out how the manual says.
    I took mine to a cylinder head shop, they pulled the rocker shafts, replaced the valve seals and grinded the valve seats.
    Cost me $100 for the head work, they had to make a tool to be able to pull those shafts out. I think a head gasket is $27 or so.

    yeah most likely if that is my problem are family freind will do it he is very smart and has alot of skills with motors. It will be a ckae slice for him..
