Tri-Z: Any important difference in swingers 85 to 86?

They look a little different but is all the geometry the same? How about the weight?

My '86 is cracked. Might buy an '85 off a board member. Just wanna be sure that there's no critical differences between them. The '85 actually looks stronger to me.

    Get 86 bushings for a 85 swinger?

Can anyone confirm there's anything different there?

every 86 tri-z swingarm I came across has been cracked in that same spot. On the right side on the top, below that extra brace that they put on it for that year. Same place as your cracked. I wonder if they tried to save weight or something. Or maybe when the welded that extra brace it weakened the metal in that spot. At any rate, I have never seen an 85 crack there so unless you are going for originality I would go with an 85 set up.

Ive never owned an 86 but from what I hear the only Critical Differences are the Bearings....85 and 86 do not match up.....Sooooo,,,,,If you buy one without ANY bearings....Plan on spending about 150 bucks for the Stuff....There is NO KIT...
