    ATC 70 Rings

Hey i just picked up a 70 a while back from speed bump (thank you lol) and it came with a 50 mini bike motor that wont run, sparks like crazy and what not, so i figured it was somthing in the valves? but any ways it came with a ATC 70 motor, and i tore them done and tried to put the 70's top end on the 50 which should work but i cant get the piston to go back in the sleeve..??? its all the right parts but the rings just wont squeeze in there.. any ideas/suggestions other than probably buing new rings?

    thanks

Lube the rings up real nice with some oil and compress them with an hose clamp until barely snug against the piston. This should give you enough room to carefully slide the piston up into the well oiled cylinder. When you get to the hose clamp carefully keep sliding the cylinder down onto the piston while slowly sliding down the hose clamp and this should get the rings in. Then un screw the hose clamp. Don't forget new gaskets!

Do the above ^^^ Also take your time. I did a top end rebuild every thing went smooth other then getting the piston to slide in. Good luck.
