    200cc Lifan break in question?

I now have the engine installed and running. I still have a couple of things to work out like install a rear break lever, fix the clutch cable, and put on the foot pegs. Everything went pretty smooth. I did have to cut the bar out on the bottom of the frame and move it. Also I had to grind the inside of the front sprocket considerably to make it fit. The hardest part was wiring up everything, but it is was not impossible. I used a kawasaki engine switch and battery box. Sorry the pics are not so great. I will try to get better ones when its daylight. This motor has a deeper sound to it than my honda. My honda sounded too poppy for lack of a better word. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I will start the break in tomorrow.

Its a camera phone. I know it sucks but its all I have. It works better in the sun. This motor should be pretty awesome. I am going to race my cousin and see if I get embarrassed. Also yes its a 5 speed.

I bought it on Ebay. I will take better pictures and go more into the details tomorrow. Sorry, I just couldn't wait. It starts so easy, just push the button for 2 seconds and she's good. I wish a could record the sound so everyone could hear. Also I need to get a battery. I have been using my mowers, which is way to big.

rear brake is easy.......get the brake lever from a 185s or 200s/200m and pull off your right footpeg....take a grinder and grind down the outer diameter of the lower mounting pedestal of the two until the lever will slip over it.....then all you have to do is fabricate a small linkage arm from it to the stock brake actuator and there you go....i`ve done it on several auto x`s i`ve built and it`s really simple

    trikes owned:
    1982 ATC 185S
    1983 ATC 185S
    (2) 1984 ATC 185S
    1984 ATC 200M
    (2) 1984 ATC 200S
    (3) 1984 ATC 200X
    made one an auto-x,easy swap
    1985 ATC 250R (stolen!...the bastards!...it was mint!)

    own now:
    1985 ATC 250R (running)
    1986 ATC 250R(parts bike)
    1984 ATC 250r w/ 280cc kit in it(pretty rough-needs TLC)
    1984 ATC 200s (running)
    1982 ATC 185s (running)
    (2)1984 ATC 200s(parts)
    1984 ATC 70 (parts)
    1983 ATC 70(off ebay-running)
    1985 ATC 70 (running)
    198? ATC 70 (running)
1984 ATC 200x (running)(have made it an auto-x until i rebuild the top end of the X motor)
    1985 ATC 200x roller(gonna make another auto-x)

I'm curious to know how well it holds up ...

Can honda motor parts bolt up to it or do you have to buy lifan replacment parts ?

The bottom end parts are interchangeable, but the top end is not. I have read alot of good things about them. There smaller engines are popular with the smaller bikes.

Well I couldn't wait to break it in, so I started today. This motor runs so awesome. It starts and idles far better than my old engine. Which it should since its new. What do you guys normally do for break in? I just thought I would take it easy for the first tank or so.
