Honda ATC 200 spark question

recently got a 1982 Honda 200 not 200 e or 200 s just 200. it had ben in stroage for 3 to 4 years if not more. Took the carb out soaked it etc. but cant get it to fire up. Some time i get a spark from the plug some times i don't. when i get one it is weak (i think, compared to my snowmobile). Any ideals? also gas tank was repaired with putty and looks like cr... are there gas tanks available for it still? I saw some plastic ones on ebay they say it will fit but they realy don't look like mine.

First thing to try is a new plug - I'll bet that will solve your problem (DR8ESL)! The gas tanks on ebay will fit it but are not the exact same shape as what you have now. For now, pick up an inline fuel filter from your local ATV or Farm and Garden tractor dealer to keep all the crap out of your carb.

dexter, all 200 200s 200m 200e gas tanks are the same,exept the 200x
so it will be easy to find one in louisiana there are a lot of trike riders out here
including me.I owns a 1985 200x and a 86 200s both bored out and have cobra exaust

If you are getting weak spark, check all the wires for breaks, clean the grounds, check your plug wire. You might have to replace the stator, that same deal happened on 2 of my machines, sometimes theres spark and other times theres not.

replace your spark plug wire, cap, and plug before you shell out for a stator.
