85/86 carb and intake fits the 83/84 250R. The 85 R has a 35 mm Keihin flatslide if I remember right. Bolt it on and jet it for your R.

    Thumbs up

I just did it and no they don't hook right up.....I had to use a blow dryer to heat it up to stretch it out. 35mm doesn't sound right either, I'm pretty sure its 34...... just my 1 cent.......

    .

Well i got a keihn carb. I checked the model/ID number in my honda specs manual and it is off of an 85 250r. It measures not quite 35mm so i believe it's a 35. what exactly does the jetting do? how hard is it to re-jet it and what would i need to re-jet it. My manual says the 83-84 250r carb has a #130 main jet and a #50 slow jet. the 85 carb has a #142 main jet and a #52 slow jet. Would the 85 not work unless i re-jet it? I am LOST when it comes to carbs so any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Well for the sake of stretchin a carb boot wouldn't you say it was bolt on? lol

Jetting will help performance. The 85 carb sounds close to yours but you need to do plug chops to see how rich or lean it is.

    Search jetting on google.

well i got a 130 main jet for the 85 r carb but i couldnt get a 50 slow jet that would work. so the 85r carb now has a 130 main and a 52 slow Would the carb work how it is or would it not work for me?

I just put my 85 carb on my 83 and it runs but its kinda sputtery in the bottom of like first and second gear but after it gets past the sputter it throws the front wheel off the ground the acceleration is so fast......mine has the stock 52/142 so i gotta do some research to see what i need to do..... I think the bottom end is the slow jet and the top end is the main jet....... let me know how yours goes..... and the boot stretching part I got lost....... I meant you would have to stretch it if you used your stock intake boot...... thats why it was my 1 cent instead of my 2.......

Ok anybody else? what jets do i need? It's an 84 250r with and aftermarket headpipe and an answer silencer. It is bored to the max and i have a dg cool head for it. If i use an 85 250r carb could i just use the jets that are stock in the 85 r carb? Could i get some stock 84 r jets and put them in the 85 carb? Does anybody just have a carb to sell me? Any and all info would be greatly greatly appreciated.
