What do you know about oil seals?

Ok, I want to replace the oil seal that in the speedo gearbox I bought for my trike. Normally I would take the seal into the bearing shop and they would give me one to replace it in. The problem is I am not at home but at college and I have no idea where a bearing shop is. Does anybody know how to read the numbers on the seal? I have found a few places on-line to order from but I don't know how to match up the seal. The seal says Ars (I think that’s the brand) then it has AB SD 30 40 5 anybody now what this means?

It most likely means 30mm inside diameter, 40 mm outside diameter and 5mm wide. I buy any seal I can from a place called Harwall. I just give them ID OD and width and ask for a dual lipped, spring backed, rubber coated oils seal. I ap about 1$ to 6$ for almost any seal. I merely called my bearing supplier (Eastern Bearings) and they turned me on to them. The only seals I don't mess with and get OEM are crank seals and water seals. Good luck!!
