black carbon on the plug is usually a rich condition or oil....but it helps to know what trike its on...also, where in Louisiana are ya?

Plugs usually get a black carbon stuff on them, but it is because they are not tuned properly. I'm not sure, but I think if they are tuned properly, the plug should be a tan color.
