    Tranny Questions

My 86' Big Red has some transmission issues.

It tends to grind gears in neutral, reverse, and SL. If you sit at idle in neutral it won't grind til you rev it a little so I guess the clutch is working ?

I am afraid my shift forks are bent or worn.

I can ride in 2nd through 4th OK. But if I sit in idle in any of those gears it feels like it is trying to move forward and then try to back up a little. Very strange.

I can say that I have no knowledge whatsoever of your clutch setup, but with a basic analitical understanding of clutch concepts, I would look there first. My theory...at idle, nothing is being asked of your clutch, but once you attempt to produce motion, your clutch is in the mix. Just my thoughts on the subject...any experts care to chime in here?
