    If you dont have an impact driver.. do the next best thing.. Get the RIGHT sized flat head .. like a big one.. and push hard and turn while hitting the end of the screw driver with a ... it will work... worked with my X stator cover timing holes. Give it a shot...

    You can replace these caps with the ones from a 86/87 200x which have a hex hole instead of the slot. Then in the future you can use an allen wrench to take them out.
