A good friend of mine has a really nice 85 350X and he found a crack in his frame on the same side but a little higher up in the sub-frame. he took a piece of steel cut it into a diamond shape and he "diamond wrapped it" as he called it. he is a phenominal welder and fabricator when he wants to be when he is away from his job, thats all he does at work.

when I get my T3 back from the radiator shop I'm having him build me a couple of aluminum skid plates for it.

Yeah thats what we did to my orange bike before I had it powdercoated, It was real small and looked it over after I had taken it apart, but I hit it with the sandblaster and found it, we ended up grinding the crack, welding it up, and fishplating a diamond shape piece of tubing over it... I even ground it down a little and smoothed it up with JB weld, the powdercoat stuck to it just fine....
