    Hey,
I still have the lid off...I forgot to try and add it back on and today remembered. The fuel/air skrew is exsternal on the carb so I don't need to take the carb off for this. I might try spraying some carb cleaning in there. Thanks

Well I'm no expert of jetting, but with adding the K&N and taking the airbox lid off, you should have rejetted with all the extra flow. I dunno for sure though but that's just my opinion. Try putting your airbox lid back on and see how it goes. Also, I don't understand how you can't get to your carb...what's in the way? All you should have to do is take off the seat, take off a few bolts/nuts, unscrew the throttle and choke cable and it should be off.

I didn't rejet because it seemed to run fine even after the mods, ran better actualy---Then one day I ran out of gas and sophoned some out of the lawn tractor...From that day on its been fouling my plugs...Even after draining the gas and adding new gas, even cleaning the tank and fuel filter.

I can't get the carb off because mostly the airbox is in the way...Well I can't get 2 of the bolts out for the airbox because one is blocked by the rear plastics and the other is blocked by the muffler. I can't get the muffler off because the bolts for it are VERY TIGHT AND RUSTED...And wont budge. So anytime I need internal carb work done I gotta take it to the shop unless theres some easy way to do it that i'm missing. Thanks

You should try and go back to your stock setup if you can and try and diagnose from there.
It might have seemed to run fine for a while with the K&N filter and the airbox cover off but if it wasn't jetted properly, you might have done damage to your engine for running it too lean.

Go back and start from scratch.
    Good luck man!

Here is my advice, to take or to leave. From what you say, once it reaches normal operating temp, you can ride all day, and the plug looks fine, maybe even lean, right? Hot engines burn fuel much better, and more efficiently than cold engines. You seem to be fouling plugs when you first try to get it started, and its still cold, right? Here is a procedural rule - ANY and all carb adjustments and tuning should be done with the engine at normal operating temperature. This means that if you are fouling plugs while its cold, carb adjustments are not likley to solve your problem. The problem is probably more prevalent in cold weather. If your problem is what I suspect, this is how to fix it. When you first get it started, do NOT rev the motor up. Let it warm all the way up at idle, or by revving slightly off of idle. Let it run for a couple full minutes, until its almost up to full operating temp. Then rev it up, and clean it out. Also once youve started it in cold weather, never shut it back off until youve reached full opertaing temp. This simple procedure will probably solve your problem.
What happens is your cold motor will run super rich, the colder the richer. Most guys will start it up, and then start revving the heck out of it which dumps even more fuel into a rich running motor, until its flooded with gas it cant burn, and fouls the plug. Same thing happens if you start it, and shut it back off again before it gets warm. The unburned extra fuel is left in there. It wont burn completely until its hot.
Impatience probably fouls more plugs than carburetors do.

    Wow,
Nicely put. I was starting to think the same...Cause when I could start revving it, it would start poping and die. Whereas if I let it idle a little longer (not to norm temp though) it wouldn't foul as fast. Well summer is soon so it shouldn't occur as much as it used to, hopefully. Thanks for the help and I will keep it all in mind.
