Track or Trail.......which do you prefer?

I noticed when mentioning a true moto track to ride it does not attract hardly any replies but mention a trail ride or just plain dicking around and it seems to attract way more.

Myself, I'm 60moto/40trail. Now that's at least what I'd like to be but 3 things have me going trail riding more (exact opposite), it's usually free, definitly closer and my SX just isn't the top dog for motoing BUT I still do enjoy it once in a while.

One of these days a 350X or 250R is coming my way for sure though

    So what are you?

Have you ever ridden on a track and if not you just have no idea what you are missing! That's why I keep preaching about Rocket (www.rocketraceway.com) but not many want to go it seems.

I've never ridden a pure track but I have a sandpit with about 20 jumps made in all sizes. Its a fun time but I love exploring, running new trails. I'm building a small simple track for myself now actually.

    60 trails/40 track.

    How about a poll option?

I am a trail guy. I like the more technical but that may be because I have just recently starter riding more "sporty". I have never been on a true track so I am looking forward to it.

I love motocross, I do 90% mx, there is one place I can't ride my trikes, so I ride my quad. I spoke to a owner of a track and he is gonna get back to me what the ama says about a vintage race for 3 wheelers. I am really looking forward to race my trikes when I am able to.

50/50. If there was a track CLOSE I'd go. 1.5 hours is my limit though

Well keep in mind WP that I offered to take you out there so all you'd have to do is come down my way and venture out with me.

You'd come home with a huge grin on your face, guarentee it !

It's the cheapest around too, 20 bucks for the day. It used to be 12.00 !!!

SOOOO your saying you will ride THE ROCKET ?

A POLL, how do I do that?

You all have boots, riding gear and such? Your asking for trouble if you just wear a pair of jeans and work boots + you look like a dick!

It would be GEEERRRRREEEATTTT to take the SX's on the track! The day I was there I had a blast on mine! I'll turn you and Chris into motodudes yet!

I'll check the dates as we are only allowed on a Saturday which is fine by me.

Can't be a race weekend either.

Well I have never rode mx or trail, I have only rode wide open dunes . The problem is there are no tracks around here, but I think mx would be a blast.

When I first started riding I was 50/50, then I got the track bug and spent all my time getting a better pipe, smaller tires, etc to make my Z better on the track. During that time I was 90track/10trails. Now I went back to my stock pipe, put 22inch tires back on the rear and geared it down to ride on the trails. Now I'm like 5%track/95%trails. There is something about going around and around over and over(no matter how big the track is) that just gets old to me.

Not if your riding with me dude!!!!!!

That's funny you say that because that is exactly what I like! The more you go around the more you hone your skills and find the hot lines to take + if a buddy is riding with you, well those are the best of times, dicing around with each other or a few guys lap after lap.

Can't argue though that trail riding always has it's surprises and it's more of an adventure and definitly easier on your trike.
