    Lightbulb Upgrades/ANYTHING for a 250sx?

I recently came across a couple hundred dollars.

I thought, "Hey, why not put it into the 86' 250sx!"

    So...

I already have a PRM Standard Grab Bar, UNI-Filter, Brand-spankin-new battery and it is all painted just fine and has good decals.

The body is in excellent shape, seat is mint and everything works 100%.

I would like it to be a bit faster maybe, I do not know much about the subject though, so am not sure.

So what can I have done/purchase/make/do to/for/on it?

ANYTHING is fine, just keep in mind what I already have done.

    Thanks

    Dave

Buy a 200X, 250R, or sport trike LOL. No J/k..
You could put a performance cam in it.. a high compression piston.. aftermarket pipe.. bigger carb.. etc. etc.

Yeah, He's right, put that $$$ into a 200x, or 250r- I've got an SX & I rode a buddy's 200x the other day & now I want one! Keep your precious 250sx the way it is & get a sport trike!

yeah you can do alot to them . Lets see if i can rattle them all off, Different front end, 350x carb, Exhaust, Cam, high comp pistion, porting, and a high flow air filter lie a K$N with no air box lid. Most of those add to the top end punch of the trike.

Now if you want to go faster get some bigger tires on the back end.

I don't know much about engines/anything related to them, so I am not sure how to do a lot.

The 350x carb doesn't sound too hard.

    Links? info?

buy a 350x carb and stick it on. lol very simple. And if ya need to you can rejet it which take 5 seconds for noobies. Alot more punch at the throttle with the X carb.

Yes if they are stock wheels they will, because the stock ones were an 8x8 wheel with a 4x110 bolt pattern, same as the douglas replacement wheels for the SX

Ok, so let's say I was to purchase this... I could simply take off mine and put this in it's place and it would work fine? No modifications, etc..?

ok here is how it goes. Yes it will bolt right up and run, but it will run very rich, which means you'll be throwing more gas into the cylinder than the spark plug can ignite. It will run but if you rejet it will run alot better.

A jet costs like $2 and is so easy to install you'll kick yourself. All a jet is is a piece of metal that screws into the carb to allow only so much gas to enter. Screw the old 350X one out and install the new 350x one and you'll be good to go.

When I had an all stock machine with just this carb on I had a jet that was the next size down and it ran great, so i'm tempted to even say you might not need to rejet.
