Hi welcome to 3 Wheeler World!

    To start you can add...

    Hi compression wiseco piston
    Performance cam (Web, Megacycles, ect.)
    port and polish
    bigger carb.
Performance air filter (K&N is most popular, Uni, Moose, ect. )
Performance pipe (DG is the only one still made, Kerker, ect.)

It all depends on how much cash you have and how much work you want to do.

Piston, air filter, exhaust, bunch of other stuff…..
www.denniskirk.com (one of my favorite places)
    www.wiseco.com

    Cam….
    http://www.megacyclecams.com
    http://www.webcamshafts.com

You can still get OEM Yamaha parts from a local dealer or online. Some places are…
    www.partswarehouse.com (One of the cheapest)
    www.bikebandit.com
    www.powersportspro.com

As for the carb. I don’t know. Stock they come with a 22mm and that just seems puny. I want to find something else but I don’t know what will work yet. If you find something please post what.

I have heard that the DG exhaust is not much better then stock so you might want to try and find something else although that might not be easy since the DG is the only pipe still made. SuperTrapp and Kerker were made for the Yami’s back in the day so you might luck out finding one of them. I bought a Kerker on ebay in the fall for $75 used, there was a new one up over the winter that closed a little over $200. So they do show up occasionally. The stock pipe isn’t that bad, were the Hondas got a bigger carb. The Yamahas got the better exhaust.

Well if you mean the YTM 225, that is auto clutch too. I was thinking XT200 (dirt bike) engine. You might be able to combine the engines; I think you would have to use just about all the parts on the right side of the XT engine along with the right half of the crank. I haven't checked into it too much but that was my thought. Do you have any ideas? I would like to go with a manual clutch on my 200.

Are you only doing engine mods or other stuff too? I plan on changing over to a power disk brake in the rear (forget that cable operated caliper). I was also thinking of doing a narrow front tire setup and then running a disk front brake. If I do that though I might use a Honda 200x front hub so I can run a speedometer too.

I already have a YTM200 that is just about done and is mostly stock (has a wiseco 10.25:1 piston and moose filter) so I was thinking of going almost all out on another one.
