Question 1984 250R Reed Spacer, rear skid, decals?

    Hello all,

I recently picked up a 1984 250R to replace the 1984 200X I sold last year. Anyways, the machine needed some TLC so I decided to do a minor restoration on it. The bore was already .020 over and had low compression, so I checked the bore, and it really needed .060 over (lots of wear by exhaust port.) Got the machine bored and ordered a new piston, now just need to put the top end back together. Spent a couple hours at the blasting cabinet last night cleaning up some misc parts and getting them ready for paint. However, I've been looking for more and more parts for this thing- I guess the 3 wheeler bug bit...

First question I have for you folks is what about a reed spacer block on a 250R? Do you really notice an improvement with them? If so, are there any vendors, either on this board or on the net, who I can buy a reed spacer from?

Second, my 250R is missing the rear skid plate (maybe it never had one??) Anyways, I'm wondering if any other year 250R skid plate will fit my machine. If not does anyone out there have an 84 250R skidplate they'd sell?

Third, looking for a set of decals for this machine. Any vendors out there who can help me out?

I'll have some pics of this thing when I'm done, I stil have to put the top end together, clean the carb, paint the expansion chamber, handlebars, head light guard, master cylinder cover, and some other minor details. I should have it done in the next 2 weeks or so; I'm done with school towards the end of May. Thanks!!

There is the answer to your skidplate problem. VERY nice looking and VERY durable skidplates. I have a PRM grab bar on 3 of my machines, and a PRM skidplate on my 350X, and I will definately be putting one on my 250R soon too. I love the PRM products.
