im installing new valves in my 350x. anyone done this? how do i seat/grind them? i was told just use a drill and spin them while moving them in and out. any info would be great. is there a compound i should use?

I usually use mediun valve grinding compound. If you have never lapped valves in before I dont recommend using a drill, you can groove the valve and seat easily doing it with a drill and then you will have problems. Just get the suction cup valve lapping tool at you local auto parts store and the compound there too, Ohh, be careful to not get any in the guides when doing this as that can cause big headaches too.Originally Posted by Erics350x

that helps alot, thanks. my valves where bent. thats why im replacing them. so do i need to lap the new ones? any other steps i should take? or should i just pay a machine shop?
