    top end and cam question(im rebuilding)

    got an 82 200e. Mechanic says your cam lobes are gone. Not getting oil up top. K. I take engine apart. Yes no cam lobes(i got pics)
    But the rest looks completly repairable. It really didnt dig into anything other than the feelers (not sure theyre called that) for in and out.
    I am thinking new feelers and new cam and I am in business. Even the cylinder is purfectly smooth got a beautiful coating of oil on it!
    i dont know what you can tell in these pics but any help please.

    yep, sure looks like to me you need another cam....looks like alot of marks on it....should get some new rings for the piston too.....if you have it down that far....its like 20-21 years old....might as well do it now....

    Is yer cyl. head bearing surface still good? The cam looks to be wasted.
