They are called fork boots. I was wandering myself as my 200x needs them. I think they go for around $20-$25.

you need to unclamp the forks and undo the brake, either from the handle bar, or the line from the caliper or master cyclinder, but then you'll have to bleed them. slide the new boots on, slide forks back into clamps, tighten bolts, hook brakes back up.

I've seen some atc's with shock boots from 4x4 truck shocks on them, they stay very flexible in cold weather, and come in many colors. I've always wanted to put clear boots on one of my trikes.

J.D.- Fork boots run between $15 & $25 depending on size and length, in cat. from www.denniskirk.com. If their for the sx in your sig., 1st- block the rear tires (I use tire chocks) and put floor jack under eng. skidplate. Next you'll need to disconnect the frt. brake cable (at adjusting nut and where cable clamp hooks to slider , then take headlight ass. off.(just need to take "rubber bands" loose from forks I believe) Next loosen bolts on upper and lower triple. Jack frt. up and slide hole frt. end out of triples. Put fork boots on forks and reverse procedure. Shouldn't take but an hour or so! Hope this helps!

p.s. I personally don't think sx is one of those that looks good w/o them!

Running a fork without the boots that was made to run them will ruin the seals quicker. I like the look of fork boots personaly, my tri z didn't come with any but after I rebuilt the forks I went with some red ones and it looks much better.

I just bought a pair off of ebay from someone in TN. Paid $23 for them. They seem to be higher quality than the ones I've seen at the stores. This guy makes them himself do a seach for 200X on ebay and you should find them. I think they do add value for keeping dirt out of the fors. Going to put mine on next week.
