    84 200x backfiring?

my trikes backfiring when i let off the gas....what can i do to prevent this from happening???? im only at 1/3 throttle....so im sure it will do it at higher rpm (im still breaking it in).....and is 3-4 tanks of gas good enough for a break in?

Do you have any exghaust leeks? Leeks expecially around where the header fits into the cyclinder really make it backfire.

    nope

nope no leaks....and the timing is correct...or it wouldnt start on the first kick....if its off...its off by maybe 1/8 of an inch if that.. but it runs fine besides the backfireing

you don't judge break-ins by 'tanks of gas' you ginger it for 20 hours, change the oil after the first 3-5 hours of ride time, again at 20, and you should be able to go balls-to-the-wall after that.

    SSJ3Goku

SSJ3Goku, 3-4 tankfulls does amount to about 20 hours of riding wouldnt you think???? beings how the 200x is pretty gas efficient.
