I have everything too complete this. I was wondering if anyone has done this and was it too much power for the short swing arm Ect..

Well they say the highest you want to go on an 85/6 R is a 310cc kit, more than that and you really must elongate the swinger. So I would assume you can keep the stock swinger, but make no mistake, it WILL be a wild ride!!!

my 82r with 300 kit compared to my 81r is more powerfull but its not uncontrolable. it can be a handfull in certain situations. when i ride both of them i do prefer the 300r. i don't know if its the power difference or if its just a better bike. it just feels better than my 81.
I got a roll a quarters an making change !

Dale... did you look at Todd from LI's 300R at Trikefest 05? It should have easily won the best trike at show IMO.... I can't remember if he had a longer swinger on it at that point or not.... 200xman is who I'm talking about.....

The 81 is a blast with the 300 kit. A little tough to keep the front end down when drag racing but otherwise O.K. Mine fit with no mods to the head or frame either. Here's a couple of pics.

my 86r with a 310pv and goodies is a wid ride, I can't imagine how it would be with a stock swinger, with a +1 it damn near throws you off. A 81r with a 300r and goodies would be a real wide ride and too much power for the bike, but it all depends on the pipe and porting done to it. I would to ride a aircooled r and see how it compares to my 85/86r

It's not that wild. I have a stock 300 jug, 85 R carb, K&N with outerwares and no airbox, boost bottle on an oldschool ProTec aluminum intake, Boyesen reeds and a full Kerker exhaust. It still needs a little dialing in but I would bet that my stock 85R would beat it in a drag.

Those are the 9" H-traks on the back of mine which are like 20" tires and I have a 21" knobbie on the front to even it out. The K&N I used was a universal one from Dennis Kirk and had a 15 degree angle, fits like a glove.
