Question Silver Vein/Hammertone powder coat - why so popular?

I'm not trying to knock anyone that likes these finishes, but I just can't understand what the attraction is. Personally, I think they both look like the nastiest part that could be found was coated without any metal prep at all. If I am going to pay to have something refinished, it certainly won't come out looking worse than when it went in. Maybe it's just me, but I think they look like crap. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Those colors hide imperfections where a nice clean color would magnify them like paint does. I did my trx frame in silvervein. It wasn't perfect so why show the flaws?

I think it depends on the part. Used as an accent on small parts I think it can look kickass.
