    Question Honda 110

My atc 110 has just had a new carb, but i thinks something wrong. Before, i started it, and i instantly got lots of white smoke, and a very loud sound. I think the carb i put in had been fiddled with, what are the correct settings for the screws? I'm thinking the noise might be the new exhaust i just put on, but i'm not sure, i stopped thengine pretty much straight away. Would the white smoke indicate water has got in, and its just evaporating? Anyway i cant start it not, but i seem to have a spark. The spark looks an orange/redish colour i think. shouldnt it be blue? Why would it be reluctant to start all the time? and finally, when i start it cold, should the choke be 'open' of 'closed' ? When it did the loud noise and smoke thing, it started stuttering, and it did that thing when i flipped the choke lever. Any help is gratefully recived.

I think i was doing the choke right, it was an abnormal amount of smoke, it never used to be like that, i'm thinking some water got it when i was working on it. Do i need to tighted some screws on the carb? or screws than join the carb to everything esle?

Can somone tell me how far in to screw the screws on the carb? i think i read somewhere in the manuel all the way in, then back 1 1/8 turns, is this right?

I almost got it started this morning, but it didnt quite get there, and i started seeing different smoke, like oily smoke from the barrel of the exhaust. i think i have an oil leak underneath the trike. there is alrge bolt, but when i turn it, it makes a sort of rod thing it in or out, this is where oil leaks out.

I think the bolt your turning is the cam chain tensioner, I dont know how to adjust these

This isnt the same carb as yours, but will look pretty similar.
knsmodels, I hope you dont mind me using your pic.

No.1 = The ide screw, This has no specific setting. just screw in until the engine idles but when in gear does not pull away. Out if its pulling when in gear this will lower the RPM's.

No.2= The Idle air mix screw, The default is to lightly screw the screw all the way in and then back it out 1 1/2 turns. Once you have No.1 set you play with this to give the highest idle speed.

No.3= the Carb bowl drain screw, Use this is you think there may be water in the bowl or if you want to check theres fuel in the bowl.

Thanks for the pic, you've been very helpful, i think i've set it correctly now. Hopefully that will be the end of my carb probs. Its still reluctant to start. I've been looking at the air filter, the foam is torn and its in need of a clean, hopefully that will help. Am i right in thinking the spark should be blue? rather than the redish colour it is now?

yes your spark should be blue. Throw a new plug in it and see if that fixes your problem.
