Are these good speakers? (Ebay Link)

Its got an ebay link so I figured it should go here. I want some decent base speakers for my truck and I want either 3 or 4 way (have only found 3 way in the 4" size). My question is does anyone have some recommendations or tell me if these speakers are any good? http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PAIR-4091-4-...QQcmdZViewItem

They're ok if you're just replacing your factory speakers and keeping the factory radio. If you're replacing or have allready replaced your factory radio I would try to find a better name brand. Poineer, sony, alpine and such. Pyramid are really bottom of the barrel when it comes to any car audio. If you are planning on amplifying these then definately get a better brand. Also cap them off at about 250hz. and up.

Honestly I dont think I would recommend those. If you are wanting bass you want a sub woofer. You wont get much bass from a four inch speaker. What kind of music do you listen to? I know everyone doesnt want massive amounts of bass. If you just want to go with something that is going to sound good. I would recommend going with a set of component speakers with a small amp. If you are talking about lots of bass then you need to look into large amps and subs. this can get expensive fast. If you just want to replace the factory speakers i would look at brands like. rockford fosgate, alpine, eclipse, pioneer, sony, infinity, jbl, clarion, kenwood, polk.

seadoo beat me to it. I agree with seadoo650. Boy I could buy a couple trikes if I had all the money I spent on car audio. What do you all have in your rides?

no those are crap might as well go down to best buy and get some pioneers. If you want louder then go with some 6x9's cut to make fit. If you want "bass" then you would want to go with subs and an amp. What kind of truck? I just recently installed an cd/tuner/mp3 player a amp and 2x12'' subs in my freinds frontier. Thing bumps, need help ask me i do car audio for anybody, tv's evrything tough myself this stuff. No books manual nothing.

Well the thing is its a Mazda B2200 so there are only 2 4" speakers in it with the stock stereo system. If I coulod I'd grab some 12" woofers and throw in but the only place I would have to throw them would be behind the seat on the metal of the truck. So not many options.

As to what music, anything with lots of bass, mostly rock and a little rap. The thing I hate most is with the windows down the stock system you have to crank full bore and then it just fizzels out and you cant hear anything.

check out some component speakers and a small amp that would be the best for sound quaility and probably the best for bass with out subs 5 1/4 inch may be the smallest they make them in though? not sure?

what you need to get is an 8" or 10" amplified bazooka tube and then replace the dash speakers with a quality set of 4" speakers

first thing i would do is go out and buy/install a cd player. Stock sytems get distorted after a certain amout if volume is put out. Then i would get some 6x9 put them in the doors, You can get a nice bazooka like above, or you can go with 1 12'' sub in a single closed box. Throw that behind the seat with some carpet under it on the floor. Get a ehh like 200-500 watt amp and your set. Sony explode has these pretty loud 4'' dash speakers pretty good.

I am big on car audio, I just built a custom ported box with a 12, two 10s a bass EQ and amp on it, the thing kicks hard, its in my car right now.

I had a ford ranger, and my set up in it was a single 12 sony xplod with a 600 watt RMS (forget the peak power, RMS is what counts) Power Acoustik amp, and, it sounded like crap, because trucks are hard to make thump good, I had an alpine deck in the truck with 3 way component speakers in the rear (6x9's) and 6.5 inch 3 ways in the front doors.

On that truck, you should be able to remove the door panel, then the peice of metal the speaker bolts on to should be removable, if it is, remove it, and you have like a 8 inch hole there, grab a peice of MDF (about 14 inch or a little more) cut it retangular, and cut out a 6.5 inch hole, or go 6x9's if you can make them fit. Dont hack away at the door frame, because it will take away the structural integrity of the door, and no matter what anyone says, your life is worth more then havin yor truck sound cool.
