lol The first gens are brutal when they get on the pipe. Really pull. Look for an 85 if you can get one. I'd almost look for an 85 250R man, I really want one of those.

You really ought to come out to Dansville.... your 2-stroke riding can not be complete without taking a 1st generation 250R out for a hot lap. All that motor in basically a near hardtail small chassis.... kinda like a 110/185 on crack!

Imagine getting on a CR480 at the ripe age of 12 and cracking it wide open across an empty field when the biggest/fastest things you've rode previously being a 200x and an old cr80. Talk about an eye opening and pant soiling experience! I've been hooked on them ever since then.

Any of the 2 stroke water pumpers will give you a good rush like that. Get any one of them you can find a good deal on and you'll have a ball.

this is most definatly true. the 81-2R's are fun as hell when you figure out how to ride them. I had rebuilt an 81R and it was my best trail bike to date and the one with the most raw low end grunt of any 2 stroke that I have ridden.

when you get one you better get yourself a box of pantysheilds you may get skidmarks from time to time.
