MY fmf seems fine, it fits good, looks good, and I would be impressed if another pipe made any more power. If it did it would be scary.

yup i heard the same thing but now for a smaller price more that i have now looked up the eddie sanders and its performance is suppost to be alot better. they told me FMF is more of if your bike is stock and u dont want to have it racing or anything just a few mods fmf is the pipe u want. If u have a lot of after market on *Edited**Edited* bike already or you are looking to do that then u want something like a paul turner or eddie sanders.
a fmf is a better pipe than stock, and it's better than a dg, but that doesn't make it kick ass by any means. A woods rider, or someone wanting to smooth out the powerband on a R would love a fmf, it has a good bottom end power and nice spread to the midrange, it doesn't have much topend or overrev, but the thing I hate the most about it, is that it takes out all the hit in the midrange it is made to make smooth linear power, so if this is what a rider wants then it's great. However, I think a two stroke should have a definitive hit somewhere in the power band, a paul turner, or esr, and most noticeably a hand formed sectional pipe such as a CT racing, lrd, trinity or power pros etc, will give far more power than a fmf will, but not spread out all over the rpm range. Most people I think buy a fmf because they think that's about the only option, sectional pipes can be bought all day long on ebay for well under 100 bucks shipped, they just aren't shiny and pretty like most people seem to want. 80 percent of the sectional pipes I've bought were sold by people "upgrading" to shiny dg or fmf pipes. I can't imagine running a fmf especially for something like dunes.if your 250r is making good horsepower and you have some mods on it, if you stick a paul turner high rev, or any other good mid to topend pipe on it I think you are going to be surprised.

I had a Paul Turner on it a long time ago and have a PT mid-range pipe now (not installed yet). Ask anyone that's ridden it. The thing makes great power the way it is (but that's no reason not to try and get some more out of it, lol). It hits very strong in the mids and just keeps revving. Not much power down low. My R isn't stock, however.Originally Posted by 86waterpumper
I want a high rev but don't want to buy new. I'll find a good deal on a used one eventually. I plan to do a back to back test ride once I get one and see how much of a difference there really is that the rider can feel.
