Yeah they tend to go for more money because they are worth it! Though other companies make a good machine every once in a while like the YFZ or the tacate, ALL honda's machines have one thing in common, they are bullet prrof reliable!!!!

Good luck with that YFZ350X and please just don't make it look like a hack job! Make it look like it rolled off the factory floor or don't do it at all!!!

That actually looks pretty sharp! Although the warrior motor is bulletproof, I dunno if I personally would want one, maybe a 350X motor

Well its kinda a cool idea but I would just leave a 250 2 stroke engine on it. Sorry.

I would just get a TriZ rolling frame and the warrior/raptor engine for it... I dont see why it would hbe that hard. WHat are you people talking about with me not affording 350x's? I have one and a 200x!

I think youve got something here...just make sure that its fast enough to make all the work required, worth the effort. Maybe a YZF426 motor or somethin.

I say "go for it". check out my thread [ yamaha 350 check it out] where I turned a Warrior into a trike. Not knockin Honda, Ihave 2 myself. But the warrior has been around for a long time and for good reason. The motor is bullet proof and has more HP than the tri-z or 350X "FACT".Push the envelope and customize. It's easy to Rehab an old trike and be like the rest. But when you build your own, you've done something. Good Luck and keep us posted. Need help just ask.

Interesting. Where'd you find this "fact"?

The fact is that I've raced my custom 350 Warrior trike against 2 350x and beat them hands down. The 250R got me at the jump but I've got 6 gears and eventually took him too. I'm not saying that Honda sucks. If it were'nt for them we would'nt have trikes. But that is old techno. New techno can get more HP out of the same CCs."Fact" You can't argue that point. And Yamaha is the clear leader when it comes to that.
Like I said, Ilove the Honda trikes. But there's nothin wrong with
improving it with a Yamaha engine. Sorry if I've rubbed someone wrong but that's My Opinion, and we all know about opinions

You need to do some fact checking. Top speed and horsepower are not the same thing. A bone stock Z puts out somewhere around 32-36hp. Don't know what year 250R's you're talking about but the waterpumpers are 6 speeds as well and those put out 39hp. I don't know how much hp a warrior makes but I'm guessing it's around 20 (give or take).

Top speed is just about gearing. A simple change in sprocket/tire sizes will have a huge impact on top speed.
