    350x 55w bulbs???

Will my 350x handle 2.. 55 watt H3 style halogen bulbs??? I am running a 35w H3 and a 55w H3 now, but not at the same time...
When I got the trike all the bulbs were blown.. I bought a used voltage regulator and decided to use H3's because of the price... I machined a spacer and hold the bulb in with a pin, seems to work fine...
    thanks, Vern

I seem to recall that the stock 350X stator will support 100 watts. Any confirmation?

Uh-oh,, Back to where I started.. That would be great if it were 200 watts, I could run both 55w bulbs....

The stock bulb is a 35/36.5.. You can get that at NAPA for less than $8 ?
Still wondering if the stator and or wiring will handle 2-55w bulbs..
Does the stator put out 100w or 200w??

The honda service manual states that the alternator puts out 200w @ 5000 RPM. Some, it is hard to know how much goes, to the regulator. Being it is a shunt regulator it might be more than half. What you may find with higher wattage bulbs is that they are dim at lower RPMs.

The NAPA part number for the stock bulb is HM202. The only thing you have to watch out for is that some of them are kinda tall. I had to file down the connection bumps on the back to fit it into my light.

The other think to be careful of is that higher wattage bulbs generate more heat. They might overheat and burn out that way.

Thanks. ATCnut... That is some good info. I think running 2-55w bulbs might be a little hard on everything. Thanks for the NAPA pt. #
