When I shipped my 200x motor, DHL Ground was the cheapest, around 41.00 if I remember correctly. Fedex was a few dollars more. And UPS was $15.00 more. And USPS was way expensive don't use them.

Go to dhl.com or call them and have them come and pick it up. You can cheat a little on the weight and dimensions when you tell them, to save a few bucks. I don't think they really check it. That's the best way to do it IMO. I think dhl, fedex and ups give you tracking numbers and insurance with the shipment, you don't have to buy those like you do with usps. If its worth more than $100.00 then you have to buy more if I remember correctly.

I've recieved engines packed real good in a regular cardboard box, but I wouldn't recommend that. Should crate it or use something stronger than a box.

Go to wally word and buy one of those plastic totes. Buy the size that is a bit bigger than the engine.. a few sheets of carboard (on the bottom) and wrapp the motor up good with some foam egg crate or push styrofoam blocks down along side it. Drill a few holes through the lid and then zip tie the lid on. This is the method Howdy recommended when I shipped my motor out to him for a rebuild. Came back without a scratch on it. UPS ground cost me around $40 one way.

i've recieved engines in card board boxes, not that the box was still intact, or pieces weren't sticking out, but they got here. plus its all in how its boxed up. if the engine is boxed in card board and its tight, it will get there just fine. just double up on the card board.

the cheapest is regular mail, but it takes a year to get anywhere, and you can't track it. uit shouldn;'t cost no more than $50 to ship that, its not even going that far. you can ship a 60lb engine to ca. from mass, for $60
