    Unhappy Need Help!!

    This is my first post. I've known about this site for awhile. Great site!! I have a 1985 suzuki alt185 I got a couple years ago for free from my neighbor. i let it sit awile because i didnt know how to fix it. now i know more about them and got it rewired and ordered a pullstarter from ebay. still waiting for the pullstarter. when i pull it around to try to start it it barley stays started for a couple of secs and the dies. it has spark, compression and gets gas. What could be the problem? how do i post pics?

    Take the carb off and give it a good cleaning and re-adjust, If you want you can email the pics to varrock12@hotmail.com and ill post em up for you, would like to see it, havent seen a Alt185, just the 125......

    carb sounds dirty clean the jets main ,and the pilot jett!! you can go to bike bandit for the pictures of it torn apart-( microfiche) and it will help you put it together right make sure the tank is good and clean and a filter between the tank and carb check the exhaust!!! if it has been setting for a while it may have a mouse nest in it!!! lol --yes i am serious

    airfilter is brand new. i cleaned the carb out not to long ago but will reclean. exhaust is good, not clogged up. would the choke affect it? I am missing the plunger for it in the carb.

    Get the pluger for the carb, It Wont run worth a crap without it, been there done that....Got the pics here
