    1985 250SX Carburator Help

When I went to adjust the Pilot Screw. It was all the way in. So I backed it out. Nothing but the Pilot Screw. I knew this could not be right. I thought it was missing the spring. So I looked on Bike Bandit for a Diagram. Looks like there should be a Spring, washer and rubber o-ring? Could the rubber o-ring and washer still be up there? Do I just need the spring, to keep it from vibrateing out?

In this link, in the little plastic bag looks like the what I am missing?
But that pilot screw looks all wrong, mine is more blunt. No point.

The spring, little silver washer are in the smaller bag. The little rubber oring is in the bottom of the pic. The rebiuld kit has everything you need. Although, speaking from personal experience the little rubber oring in those kits are much thicker than stock. Making for one heck of a time trying to put it together. Is the point of the needle on your's broke off perhaps?

Oh shoot, I'm not qite sure if the TRX kit is the same as the ATC? The 250ES is the same for the SX I know for sure.

    Perhaps this one here?

The little spring normally doenst come out till you tip the carb upside down but I'm sure that has happened if you were fiddling with it. Maybe the previous owner F*ed it up when he tried to rebuild it and forgot some stuff. If so rebuild kit is the only way.

I just rebuilt my carb on my 250sx a half an hour ago. Your pilot screw looks to be broken. I got my rebuild kit from a local bike shop for $25.00 Canadian.
R.I.P. Sandpuppie, you are greatly missed!
May you rest in peace Jeswinehart, deeply missed, never forgotten....

Wierd thing is, it is not broke. I know the picture does'nt show it.

I am wondering if someone just got some pilot screw that was close, and just screwed it tight.

I will get a Carburator kit, lot cheaper then buying the pilot screw kit from honda ($16.81).

What kit is better Shindy,Moose,Keyster ???
