Question Help with 84 125m tranny??

Just got back from a great week of 3 wheelin with the wife. We were up in northern Maine with my 86 200x and her 84 125m!! Wow, let me tell you guys, it is 3 and 4 wheel heaven up there!! lots of trails, well marked, what a blast. Ok, now the bad part. Towards the end of our trip my wifes 125m started experiencing some tranny problems. The bike finds what I would call a false neutral between 1st and 2nd gear. You can be moving along in first just fine and go for a shift into 2nd and the bike hits neutral. You then have to shift up again to find 2nd. Sometimes it will go in gear, sometimes not. This problem has occurred between 2nd and 3rd also. Right before this problem with the 125 my wife did get a bit radical on it. The bike bounced off a rut in the trail pretty hard, caught some air, landed in another rut and bucked the opposite way. How she held on I'll never know! Well, any help would be great guys. Thanks.

Sounds like the stopper paw is broken. It's the little elbow piece that holds it into gear.
