    81 250R shift lever???

    A guy I work with has a 81-2? 250R and the shifter is stripped, not the shaft, just the lever. He has tried honda and other common places with no luck. The shaft is about 1/2 inch in diameter and all the newer stuff is much smaller. He asked me to try and find him one ( told him if I do I get his 84 200X for free). Any of you guys have one you'd like to sell, or know what other models have the have the same size shaft so we could weld his old lever onto it? Any help would be appreciated.

    the 83-4 250R shifters work as well. the shifters between the two are different but will interchange. I used an 83-4 shifter on my 81 and I liked more than the stock one.

    Sweet!, looks my X will have a sidekick shortly LOL!!! So there is no issues with frame cleance or anything like that? Cause in the pics they do look diffrent.
