    Exclamation 200X idling issue

Ok I have an 85 200X, which is all stock. I have rebuilt the carb and adjusted the pilot screm according to the Clymer manual. I have checked for air leaks around the intake boot and replaced the gasket between the cylinder and the carb. She'll start right up when the choke is in the center position. After a few minutes of warm up, off I go. Then when I turn the choke off, it refuses to idle. When I set the idle screw up, it'll idle at very high RPMs and then slowly taper down till it dies.

What is up with this carb? Should I raise the needle jet on the throttle cable, bore out my main jet, or what. Surely someone else has this same problem. Any suggestions?

I have that same sort of issue, but without using the choke at all. With the choke all the way down, it will start right up, but as soon as it warms up it will taper out and die after a little bit. Then its really hard to start. I think it may have something to do with the height of the main needle, in accordance with the float height. I have read that if these arent right, you can have all sorts of problems. First of all, dont use the crappy clymer manual. I have used it in the past, and it was assembled in an extremely unprofessional manner. Things are vague, and sometimes hard to find in there.
