5 speeds LIKE the 14 tooth front !!

lmao just when i think ive got it solved . maybe i should just get a six speed tranny lol. well localy i can get my hands on a 15 tooth and i would have to order and wait for the 14 and 16 tooth so im just going with whats available. if i find its not what im looking i will just go up or down from there. basicaly what im trying to do is not be left too far behind when my riding buddies are going flat out. i can out acelerate them as is but its no fun when you get passed by and your engine is screaming pinned in 5th. the guys i ride with are riding 660 raptors, ds650's, and a couple of z-400's (slow) and one 350 raptor (really slow.). now im sure i will never have the top end of say a ds650 and thats fine but i need more top end in a big way. seems like my air cooled 250r has more top end speed then my tri-z.

I had stock gearing on my 85 1/2and put 18x11-8 on the stock wheels. I go through the gear fast. What gearing do you recommend to get back to the stock ratio with the 18x11-8? Is there a chart to see what gearing you need with different size tires?

im glad you brought this thread back to life because I've never seen it and it has some good info, I'd go with the 14/43 for your 18's to keep the stock chain
