    Modify a 81 250r?

I came into an 82 250r engine recentlty and was looking for a rolling chassis to put it in. I found a 81 with a blown engine for $400 is this a good price? It has an extended swingarm on it. I like the look and suspension of the 84 though. Can the 81 be modified or use the same parts as an 84? to make it look more like one?

i dont think so the 81 82 250rs had a unique look to them. 83 84 were kool looking bikes but i dont think they will fit cause they looks like they changed a bunch of things.
finding a good bike is like finding a good woman, it might or might not happen so hang in there.

    250r

YES, the 83-84 front suspension will work in the 81-82 frames, I had a 81' 250R with a 84 Front end on it, you have to swap everything though, and I mean everything. $400 for a 81 250r with a blown motor is a good price only if the rest of the bike is in clean and really good condition. boring and a new piston (or a correct rebuild) will cost around $150. if you need anymore info, let me know.

    Thanks
