Updated the site a little tonight...

We removed the guestbook some time ago because we had a lot of spammers posting in it and we didn't have access to remove them. But that has now changed. So I took 2-3 hours tonight and cleaned the spam from 80+ pages ( over 100 still to go ).
We have also changed it to where all entries have to be approved before being made public. This will eliminate the spam in the guestbook. We will try access the GuestBook and approve the valid entries on a weekly basis ( more often if needed ).

I know it's not much of a update, but it's a start.

Yes the spam bots are out of control. I wished there was a way to eliminate all spam, but I know it's not going to happen any time soon. You would be suprized on how many spammers we delete off the forums here alone. It's crazy some days.
Now we could set it up to where all new members have to be approved before posting. This would be more work for the mods & Admins, but it would help limit or eliminate the spam. This option is a last resort option, only to be used if forum spam gets out of control.

I know you guys don't run phpbb, but there is a mod for phpbb called 'the humanizer' that adds a simple line on the registration page that says 'are you human?' with a yes or no answer. I guess its stopping alot of the bots, and I installed it on my forum. Some people are even changing it to say 'what is 6 times 5?' and other similar things. Maybe VBulletin has something similar as a mod.
