im not sure if the cr motors bolt right in to the 85 or 86 250r frame? Or does it require any mods and if so what year to what year. thanks in advance.

I'm putting a 89 cr250 motor in a 85 r frame .Not a direct bolt in.it will work but you have to fabricate to make it work.A couple other guys on here have done it.
ok cool i was hopin it was a straight swap but still sounds like its not to much work might be worth a shot thanks again.

wtf are you talking about. ITS A LOT OF WORK. Could you show me pwk39 how your motor is being put in? I was trying to put in my 89 cr250 motor and i couldnt get anything at all to mount up. It looked as though all the mounts would need to change.

it's not too bad if you have the proper tools, and motor mount fabrication.i actually have a set of motor mounts made for this.everythying you need to bolt it up.

wait, 3leggeddogg...first off, i wan't to appologize. I never got back to you about not sending it, i really left you hanging. But what i need to know is will the mounts help me completely put the cr motor in the frame? I was trying and just putting the bike in the frame was tough and nothing, not even the swinger bolt, wanted to line up together. Can you help me out with this conumdrum(that even a word?)?

no bigie man.not hurtin me a bit.when i did the swap,it seemed somewhat simple.sprocket alignment was the toughest thing.i got mounts made that uae the original swinger bolt setup.i just modified the swinger mount to fit the back of the cr motor.then i made new head mounts, and front mounts.i cut off the lower mount on the frame, but then realized it lined right up.take your time, any custom jod takes paitence, and trial and error.you'll get it
