Kawasaki JS550 piston is the one that fits if I remember right. Blazerone or someone posted the part number for it a while back. Search it.

ok well your options are slim yes there may be an option to run a snowmo or ski piston but im not familiar with it. The most common option (what I did) Is deck your cylinder 4mm and trim your sleeve and run a 330 bigbore piston for a trx250r. I've also heard of running a fl350 piston but I wan't to say by the time your runnning pistons that big your sleeves about out of life. I've heard wossner will still make pistons for the hondaline kit but youd have to call. It will be pricey but be worth it. An unmolested 300r kit will fetch a bigger penny then mine will and might run better as well. The way I see it you pretty much have a 4mm stroker compared to the ones modded for a trx piston.. Hope that helps a bit

lol how do you guys catch that stuff? I never think to look at the dates of the threads on top of the page. And a question about this thread, wouldn't a new piston and rings come in the new big bore kit he got? lol

most of the hondaline 300 jugs and heads are just that, jugs and heads now. it is very hard to find a complete kit with piston and rings.

wossner would be a good way or the 330 trx piston with cut down jug works great also.

    good luck !!!!!!!!

Everyone swears by the 3rd gens being faster and better handlers. I have both second and a 3rd gen and the ergonomics on the 3rd gen are crap compared to the second gen. With a little modification my 84 will hang with the 3rd gens all day long on a mx track. I have 2 300r motors as well and never had a hassle getting piston /rings. Long live the air cooled

Sooooooo...... tell us again how you have to modify the 2nd gen to keep up with the 3rd gen. I really like that story.

I figured this would happen. No fantasy land here on the east coast. Never said I'd BEAT a 3rd gen, I can Hang with a stock 3rd gen all day long where high gear is rarely used.As for what I've done there Duhick bikes. I have only a pipe ,86 carb, spacer, and new reeds.and a 38 rear sprocket on 18's. Couldn't tell you anything about what size bore because i haven't needed to tear it down yet since I bought this one (if it ain't broke, don't fix it)Don't get me wrong I love my 85 r but it doesn't fit taller riders as well as my 84 .Just my opinion since I've only been riding and building air cooled R's since 87.

Yep, Madman racing is right. A Aircooled with few simple mods are just as quick as the LC, just don't have anywhere near the top speed. I out accelerate the many LC R's off the line at the track all the time. These aircooled R's can really move quite well.
