    would you buy it?

'86 250sx. Guy has been riding it, but is having trouble with the trans. He has no idea if it's big or small...engine runs great, no smoke. 300.00 local sale? I'm torn.

I wouldn't say mint by any means...plastic is all there with cracks like you would expect. I guess I would say average condition.

I personally think it's a good buy....I mean 300 bucks isn't bad for something that runs good, and it doesn't look half bad. You probably wouldn't have to sink much into getting the trans rebuilt.

I'm plenty mechanical...not intimidated by motors at all. But I've never delved into a tranny on anything. How tough to do it myself?

What is the problem? Does the shifter stick? Most of the SX/ES shifting problems can be fixed just by pulling the left cover. There is a pin that can break or the shift shaft part that rides on the pin can crack. I've seen both and they are pretty easy fixes.

Pick that up! Get a manual to help you through the tranny. Shouldnt be bad at all.

Alrighty fella's, I finally got a Purchase Order approval from the boss, those who are married know what I'm talking about! Gonna have my cousin go pick it up tonight. I may be on for more questions.

So I have an '83 big red 200e...What differences will I see between these two rides? I use these as a put put around the yard alot and hope I don't lose too much of the pulling power of the big red. Part of my deal is I have to get rid of the old big red.

You won't have a sore arse anymore since you'll have rear suspension. The SX should have more power than your 83 since it is 50 cc bigger and the first gear on the SX is really low. Reverse is a big plus too.
