Working on a 84 200x, and 3rd gear theres something wrong. I know it is the clutch, because the engine bearly acts up. It feels like someone is hitting the breaks while riding. it jumps every 5 ft. any clues

I would think if it was the clutch it would do it more then just in 3rd gear.
My 200s is making some winding sound in 5th. Runs good just noisy. Also looking for ideas.

sounds like damaged teeth on the gear or a worn bearing.
