You may need heat - I did for the axle nuts or they weren't coming out. Then I had to rebuild the caliper as when I took it off all the slide bolts were seized and falling apart with bad pads. Rotor hub was also seized to the axle splines and needed heat to get it off.
You'll need gas to rough clean everything and brake or carb cleaner to clean it all up before assembling. I use semi permanent form a gasket on the outside of my rubber coated seals to seal them in the carrier real nice. I alse use a thick paste grease on all the splines so they will come apart next time.

AH Yes the old rear end bearing change, the sweet sound ofing and swearing, maybe the odd cut open finger...LOL....and the fun part and by far the easy part, the new ones. I my self have to replace mine they seem to be getting a little slack. i just tap mine out very softly (as much as possable) so i don't crack any thing that i don't want to. Clean up the area where the new ones are going (make it nice and shiny) and press (hopefuly by hand) in the new ones.
P.S i'm on my third set of bearing's in mine, I think it might be because of the rough trails and no shock on mine.
Does the swing arm need to come off?
Where would I put the Zirks fitting?Originally Posted by jeswinehart

Tap a 1/4 - 28 thread in the middle of the housing where it won't affect anything else. There is a bit of room around the inside spacer to the inside diameter of the carrier but once it's filled with grease it only takes a small amount to fill the bearings up.
