    This is a design problem and is caused by the case flexing when its kicked over. Some other hints are in the picture below. Make sure the screws indicated are kept tight! Especially the upper ones. Ive seen where they get stripped and guys will leave them out, and assume that because its not leaking oil, it must be okay. Those two upper screws are your best support to keep it from flexing. Also, if you look closely at the bracketed area in the photo of the sidecover you will see that that has been filled in with JB Weld, and then ground down until the bottom of the kickstarter cover pushes tightly against the case when its installed. I then painted it. Eliminating that small crack of space in there between the kickstarter cover and sidecover removes flexing space. This is NOT a repair of a case crack. This will help greatly in preventing one!
