    1983 Suzuki RM125

I am selling my quad and this guy might trade me for a 1983 suzuki RM 125. I was going to sell my quad for $600, so is this kind of bike worth $600? He said it doesnt have spark, he replaced the CDI but still no spark, so does anybody know what the problem there might be? And I have read another post that said 83 RM 125's are OLD, and it will probably need a top end, so how much does a new top end rebuild cost, piston and ect?And If I get it, and have to change the top end, How often will I need to rebuild the topend?

Sorry for all the questions, And could someone reply ASAP, even if it is just an opinion, I want to know by the morning, Thanks so much.

There Fun bikes, Easy to work on and cheap to maintain, no powervalve so they got a nice hit to them, the rear suspesion is kinda gooofy but works just the same, Rebuild will only be 100-150$ top and thats with a new bore, probably get away with a hone.....Also depends what kinda shape the Con rod and main bearings are in to, But they seem to hold up fine...mine and my friends both had OE in them and run strong.

Thank you MTS, does anybody know why it might not be getting spark, like I said he even changed the CDI and there is no spark? And also, this bike is a 2 stroke isnt it?
    Thank you

check the wires ,coil,stater-yes its 2 stroke
    - 100 for a piston kit
use a test light plug in each wire from the moter and kick it over -- narrow it down where your gettin fire and where not!!

i would say its the stator. if you need one, if you get it, ill sell you 1 cheap. there good bikes. simple to work on, but i believe that its not worth $600 especially if it doesnt run. too much money for a maybe. running condition maybe it would be worth it if it was mint. joe
