    Will an 86 200X motor fit into an 85 200x bike

    There is a nice motor I need but it is an 86 200x and I have an 85 200x. Will it bolt right in?

    No it won't fit. The 86/7 motor only fit in 86/7 frames.

    I wouldnt be so quick to tell him no. It wont bolt in. I've seen an 86 engine in a 1st gen 200x. You need engine mounts atleast. and probably alittle more work.

    You can also use any of the 200 185 motors with pull start. The are a direct bolt in.

    Thanks guys !!! I will wait for an 84 or 85. or maybe just rebuild the one I have . It only needs a top end and I already bought the top end kit w/ cylinder. I am just not a 4 stroke guy. maybe This winter I will learn seeing as how all motocross bikes will only be available as four strokes shortly.

    Really?? That is nuts. Why are they getting rid of 2 strokes bikes? Global warming

    A 83 200x motor will work also so.
